RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - "We promised we would have baseball back and we've done it," said Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones.

The announcement came just yesterday, a new team will soon play ball at The Diamond.

The Connecticut Defenders are moving to Richmond for the 2010 season.

The new team is already investing more than a $1.5 million into the stadium to make it their home.

Todd Parnell is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Richmond Baseball, the group that owns the team. He joined us to talk about the big move.
