RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A fire scene turns into a fight scene in Gilpin Court... and our cameras caught the entire thing!

This all unfolded around 5 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of St. Paul and West Federal streets.

The fire turned out to be nothing, but a crowd started to gather as emergency crews showed up.

That's when things got out of hand, and dozens of people started to fight.

Officers from the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority stepped in to break it up, and a couple of them got hurt - even though the chief said they knew exactly what they were doing:

"We do the same thing as any police officers do," said RRHA chief Hal Hamilton. "We go through constant training all the time. You get it at the academy and you get it in follow-up training periodically throughout the year."

The police chief said none of his officers were seriously hurt. By the time everything was said and done, Richmond police showed up.

They arrested four people.

No word on what charges, if any, were filed.
