Richmond hoping to help families avoid foreclosure

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond is hoping to help more families avoid foreclosure. The city is teaming up with a housing advocacy group to provide free foreclosure prevention clinics.

If you are behind on your mortgage this is a chance to meet with a housing counselor who knows what to do.

The clinics will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the areas hit hardest by foreclosures in the city.

Individual sessions are 30 minutes. To reserve a time slot call housing opportunities made equal at 804-354-0641 before Friday at 5 p.m.

Blackwell Community Center, 300 East 15th Street.
Fifth Street Baptist, 2800 3rd Ave.
Trinity Baptist, 2811 Fendall Ave.
Mount Taber Baptist, 2011 Fairmount Ave.
