Baseball returning to Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - After a long year off, baseball is returning to Richmond.

We'll find out on Wednesday which team will play ball in the River City. It's believed the Connecticut Defenders will make the move.

The city of Richmond was without a baseball team this summer after the Richmond Braves moved to Gwinnett County, Ga., following the 2008 season.

The Richmond Metropolitan Authority will make the official announcement along with Eastern League baseball officials at 10:30 a.m. at The Diamond on Wednesday.
