CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - After the discovery of a woman's remains just a few weeks ago, Chesterfield Police are now revisiting two cold cases.
"It was in August, we discovered skeletal remains near the Falling Creek Apartments located on Jefferson Davis Highway," said Captain Terry Patterson of the Chesterfield County Police Department. When Patterson learned they were a woman's remains, he pulled these missing persons cases.
"There were three women that I really focused on. Anita Gunn, Thylea Chisholm and Pamela Sue Dodson."
Dental records proved the remains belonged Dodson. Police are still waiting on her cause of death. But during this investigation, police mapped out a startling fact.
"This is a one-mile radius right here. Now in this one-mile radius, I've had two bodies disposed of and then two other women missing," Patterson said.
In 2001 Laura Brinser was found dead, her killer is serving life in prison.
The two women were last seen in the area surrounding the Jefferson Davis Highway Corridor like Pamela Dodson. But she was last seen in 2001, where the other two women were last seen in the 1990's.
"We have conducted extensive searches in the general area we haven't discovered anything else at this point." Could it be very well that someone's out there killing all these women? "I'm certainly not in a position to rule it out."
Captain Patterson is hopeful new information, will lead to finding Gunn and Chisholm.
"They're never forgotten. We always take a look at them if we get new information. We try to get it out there."
