RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia Senator Mark Warner is hopeful that a new, senate version of health care reform, will ease the concerns of conservatives and meet the needs of liberals.

Senator Max Baucus introduced the new bill this afternoon.

It does not contain the controversial "public option" and makes clear who will have access to the options offered in the reform package.

"If we have health care reform there is going to be no funding for illegal aliens. I think there was a lot of misinformation on that and any ambiguity in the house bill has been cleared up in the senate bill," Warner said.

Warner told NBC12 that the Obama Administration should have started their pitch to Americans with a focus on driving down costs, not extending coverage to people without health care.

He thinks had they done that, the country would be willing to work to get the reform measure passed.
