RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department is investigating the discovery of a body in a ravine in the 1000 block of Lombardy Avenue behind Maggie Walker Governor's School this morning.
Police were called to the scene at 8:53 a.m. When they arrived, officers found a black male lying on the ground in an area underneath an elevated section of Interstate 95 between the Boulevard and Belvidere exits, off the Maggie Walker property.
Police say a tentative identification was made but will not be released pending notification of next of kin. Police say the tip came from a homeless person that had been in the area. Richmond Police are conducting a death investigation and are waiting for a determination of cause and manner of death by the medical examiner.
