Chesterfield officials to see presentation on H1N1 virus

Posted by Phil Riggan - email

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - We all know how serious the threat of the H1N1 swine flu is -- whether it be parents worrying about their children in school or flying in a plane -- anywhere we go we think of the dangers.

A presentation on swine flu will be part of a meeting involving Chesterfield County leaders. The Board of Supervisors and the County School Board will all be under one roof.

Doctor William Nelson -- Director of the Chesterfield Health District -- will make a presentation today about the H1N1 virus.  The meeting is at the Meadowdale Library, but it is not open to the public.

Another concern is whether or not the vaccination will be ready in time for a potential outbreak.

Now we are learning that Americans could start getting the shots for the virus as early as the first week of October.

But the bulk of the vaccine is still scheduled to be released nationwide by mid-October.
