NASCAR drivers appearing all over Richmond area

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Race week in Richmond is here! Some of the NASCAR drivers will be  in Central Virginia starting tomorrow.

The action at Richmond International Raceway begins Friday with cup qualifying and the nationwide series race. Saturday night under the lights the final race before the chases begins. Let's take a look at where the drivers will be Thursday.

Kasey Kahne will be in Hanover County Thursday evening at Gander Mountain in Ashland. The winner of the race this past Sunday will sign autographs from 6-8 p.m.

The youngest driver on the cup circuit is Joey Logano. Joey will help build a racing themed playground at Chimborazo Park in Richmond Thursday morning. The playground's design is based on drawings by children who live in the community. He'll also be at the Chester Home Depot from 5-7 p.m.

Kyle Petty and Greg Biffle will help with a blood drive at Richmond International Raceway Thursday. The drivers will be at the Old Dominion building at the track. Petty will be there from noon-1 p.m. He'll be at Grandpa Eddie's BBQ in Richmond Thursday at 8 p.m. Biffle will be at the blood drive from 4:30-5 p.m.

NASCAR owner Jack Rousch will be at Richmond Ford Lincoln Mercury from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Roush will meet the public and sign autographs.

Carl Edwards' 99 Aflac race car will be on display at the Ford dealership on West Broad Street.

Thursday at 3:30 NASCAR drivers Robby Gordon and David Gilliland will visit Army Reserve soldiers of the 80th Training Command and the Defense Supply Center Richmond.
