3 similar robberies Labor Day have police comparing facts

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Was it a crime spree? Or is it just a fluke? Three robberies in just about three hours, in three different localities. Now local police are comparing facts.

The first happened Monday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. in Richmond.

Two men robbed a delivery driver at the Lincoln Manor Apartments in the 4100 block of North Avenue.

They got away with his cash, iPhone and a 9-millimeter pistol. The victim was not hurt.

Then in Chesterfield -- about two hours later -- a thief attacked a chinese-food delivery driver at Friendship Memorial Baptist Church on Hicks Road.

The thief hit the driver in the head and took his money.   The victim told police he wasn't sure if the man was alone or not. That victim is expected to be okay.

And then, an hour later - around 5:15 p.m. Monday afternoon in Henrico, a man with a gun jumped the counter at the Days Inn on Chamberlayne Avenue.

Police say another man was with him. They stole cash from the hotel.  Henrico police searched for them using a K-9 team, but turned up nothing.

Police describe the suspects as a pair of young men between 19 and 22.

Anyone who knows anything about any of these robberies is urged to call police.
