Fire extinguished, residents complain of false alarms

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -  A small fire at a Richmond apartment complex forced residents to evacuate the building -- and now, they're the ones that are fired up.

Fire crews were called to the Grace Place Apartments on North 4th Street just before 1:30 yesterday afternoon.

When they arrived, the sprinkler system had put out the fire. It started in a compactor in the basement.

Residents were furious. They claim there has been a rash of false alarms at the complex -- and this was the third time yesterday that they had to evacuate the building.
