Hanover animal control changes missing pets protocol

Posted by Phil Riggan - email

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Hanover County is making changes when it comes to its protocol for missing animals.

The move comes after a woman's missing dog was euthanized after being at animal control, for 10 days.

Yesterday, the Hanover County Board of Supervisors accepted recommendations to change how animal control searches for and handles with missing animals.

One big change: getting pictures of missing pets on the shelter's website faster.
