Dozens turn out for amusement park job fair

From NBC12 News

HANOVER, VA (NBC12) - A big turn-out Saturday at Kings Dominion but it had nothing to do with the attractions.

The park held a job fair, in hopes of hiring seasonal workers for its Halloween-themed event, Haunt 2009.

Organizers say the recession has brought an increased interest in any available jobs.

Last year at Kings Dominion's first job fair, between 30 and 40 applicants showed up.

Saturday's job fair brought in 50 applicants in just the first hour.

"We are looking for approximately 400 individuals, just for our haunt positions," said Kings Dominon spokesperson Jenn Andree. "We still have positions available in a lot of our other departments, so we are probably going to be hiring another thousand people between now and the end of our season."

If you missed this weekends job fair, you can still apply online to work at the park.
