PETERSBURG, VA (NBC12) - Drivers in the Tri-cities no longer have to worry about traffic jams because of a massive plane.
The fuselage of a giant C-17 cargo aircraft finally made its way to Fort Lee Saturday afternoon.
The trip was supposed to happen Friday but mechanical problems forced delays.
Portions of Temple Avenue, Route 36 and Oaklawn Boulevard were closed so the plane could make the trip.
Crews only had to drive the fuselage a short distance -- but it's such a big piece of equipment that the drive was very slow.
