CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The remains of a woman missing for almost 8 years have been found in Chesterfield County. Police are considering everything at this point, but they aren't ready to call the death of Pamela Sue Dodson a homicide.
Dodson was reported missing 10 days after she was dropped off at the bar, House of Dave's on Jefferson Davis Highway. The skeletal remains were found near the Falling Creek Apartments on Marina Drive a week ago today.
Just three weeks before she went missing she testified in the trial that ultimately led to the conviction of her cousin Daniel Curtis Burkhardt in the death of a 89 year old man.
For police uncovering what happened will mean starting all over again.
"One of the issues that you run into is that some of the people that were familiar with her, some of them have passed away, some of them have moved out of the area, so that is one obstacle you have to overcome, is that you have to locate all of these people again," said Chesterfield Police Department Capt. Terry Patterson.
Police say that Dodson's family has been cooperative. They are hoping that someone may be able to shed some light into how she died.
