Two sent to the hospital after officer involved accident

CHESTERFIELD, VA (NBC12) - One motorist received serious injuries after turning in front of a Chesterfield patrol car Saturday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Beulah Rd. and Mason Crest Drive.

Police say a car traveling east on Beulah attempted to turn onto Mason Crest when it was hit by a squad car traveling west.

The impact caused the turning vehicle to collide with another car.

The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured, however police say the officer received minor injuries.
