RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Just moments ago Michael Vick spoke to the media for the first time about the mistakes he has made and his desire to move on.

Vick said today that he now knows what a priveledge it is to play in the National Football League. He realizes what he did was wrong and he wants to help the Humane Society.

Vick seemed sincere in his remarks last hour. He did not read from a script and he answered all the questions in the half hour press conference. He thanked everyone for their support and said he considers this his first year in the league. His goal is to help the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

He also answered the question, why did he get involved with dogfighting?

Michael Vick will wear number seven for the Eagles. He will practice with the team tomorrow.

The former Virginia Tech and Falcons quarterback has not played a game since 2006.
