HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico Animal Control still has a trap set up for what could be two pit bulls that went on a vicious rampage Wednesday night.
"Everything, cause he was a cute little puppy," said Margaret Randolph whose puppy was mauled.
Eight month old "Wes" was a poodle/terrier mix. And he was given to 83-year-old Margaret Randolph, as a gift.
"He was company. Up and down all the time, he was playful," said Margaret.
Wednesday night Wes was let out, on a leash when neighbors say two pit bulls, one brown, and the other white, viciously attacked.
"I said, 'Look I gotta go. Something is going on in Ms. Randolph's backyard'," said next door neighbor Linda Charity.
Linda said the attack was so brutal; she wouldn't let Margaret see what had just happened.
"The white one had her little dog up in his mouth. And when I screamed he dropped the dog, and they both continued to stand there," said Linda.
The dogs were later linked to the mauling death of another small dog down the street. But they haven't been seen since.
"Suppose there had been a child there? I think they would've attacked anything," Margaret said.
Neighbors say the dogs have never been seen here before. And Animal Control doesn't know who owns them. They may only get answers - if one of them comes back, and gets caught.
