Fraudulent ATM cards used to steal money

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Authorities need help identifying the individual shown in this surveillance image.

Richmond Police said he used five fraudulent ATM cards at an ATM in the Fan District on Saturday. He used stolen information gained by a skimmer to access the money.

A skimmer is a small device that attaches to an ATM and captures card information.

Police ask that people take time to check for suspicious devices at ATMs and do not use any machines with loose or missing parts.  Always check your statements for transactions and cover the keypad when punching in your pin number. Beware of "shoulder surfers" or small cameras that can capture your pin number.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
