SPOTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT) - New details in that deadly dog mauling out of Spotsylvania county. To hear to police tell it the victim's sob story, that we aired Tuesday night at 11, was a pack of lies.

A Sheriff's Department spokesperson says Sandy Manes wasn't walking her dog like she first reported, but instead was trying to break up a fight in her own back yard between her black lab and the pit bull. The woman's black lab, "BJ" was hurt so badly he had to be put down.

She suffered a broken leg and finger in the attack last Sunday. The 60 year old woman claimed a rottweiler was responsible. Authorities say both Manes and her son could now face criminal charges.
