RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The storms may be out of Central Virginia for now, but thousands are still without power this morning. Our area was hit hard overnight by big storms.
At the height of yesterday's storm there were more than 15,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers without power.
Some of you may have noticing damage left behind after yesterday's storm. Scattered tree branches or uprooted trees.
The high winds dropped tree limbs and branches to the ground. Parts of a tree fell on the Manchester Lake apartment building -- just off Hull Street Road and Chippenham Parkway.
And in Henrico County some amazing photos sent in to us from viewers. You can see the flames coming from the roof of a home on Red Banks Drive in Sandston. Witnesses say the fire was started by a lightning strike. But fire investigators have not been available to comment.
If you're finding damage in your yard or neighborhood, snap a couple quick pictures and send them to us.
