RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond police plan to deter crime back-fired last night as a police cruiser was set on fire last night in Richmond's North Side.
It happened in the 2900 block of Barton Avenue around 12:50 a.m. The car was set on fire and the back windshield was smashed with a brick.
The cruiser was parked along the street in Barton Heights as a way to deter crime.
The department's been strategically placing unmanned vehicles in neighborhoods around the city.
