12 About Town: What's happening in Richmond this week

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -  There's two tomato festivals going on this week's 12 About Town. The Shockoe Tomato Festival and the Hanover Tomato Festival kick off this Saturday. You'll find almost every tomato under the sun.

The Shockoe Tomato Festival is back for the first time in two years. It's at the 17th Street Farmer's Market from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking is free. You won't want to miss out on the blue grass band "The New Olds," a Miss Shockoe Festival Pageant, and much more. Go to richmondgov.com for more.

The Hanover Country Park and Recreation Center is rolling out all the fun with their Hanover Tomato Festival at the Pole Green Park. Their festival is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's all things tomato of course with a best dressed tomato contest and a Tiny Miss and Little Miss Hanover Tomato Festival Pageant. The Richmond Shakespeare Company is performing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' this week from Thursday to Sunday. It's the last four nights of the showing and it promises to be a night of frolicking fairies, romance, and love. Tickets are $13 to $25 . Richmondshakespeare.com

Where else can you get a free honeymoon or wedding band? The 6th Annual Elegance Bridal Show will be this Sunday at the Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center.  The first 500 brides or grooms to come through the door win a free honeymoon. See three days of Christian music, speaking and teaching you won't want to miss at the 2009 Kings Fest at Kings Dominion, starting Thursday.
