RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - We have 19 critical violations in tonight's Restaurant Report.  We begin in Chesterfield.

Top's China (12627 Jefferson Davis Highway) in Chester tops the list with 4 critical violations.  An inspector reported that washing was not observed between the handling of raw and ready-to-eat foods.  A follow-up inspection shows all but one of the violations were fixed five days later.

Moving on to Henrico, Bogart's Inc. (443 North Ridge Road) with 6 critical.  An inspector observed an employee cough into gloves, then continue working without changing them.  Two follow-up reports show the restaurant has been cleared of violations.

Next, Liberty Market (523 South Washington Highway) in Ashland with 5 critical violations, including raw meat stored in a manner that may cause cross contamination.   A follow-up inspection has yet to be posted.

And finally, in Richmond, Ukrop's (7045 Forest Hill Avenue) with 4 critical.  Among them, a grill that was found soiled to sight & touch.  Ukrop's issued the following statement in response:

"While we recognize from time to time we may fall short of the Health Department's guidelines, all of us at Ukrop's are very eager to comply with these regulations and take all food safety concerns very seriously.  It is important that we address concerns quickly; in fact, three of the four critical violations were corrected while the inspector was present.  The store began to immediately address the fourth violation involving the slotted grill and completed the task by the following morning.  In addition, store associates took corrective actions in each instance to ensure that these violations are not repeated."

And now for this week's Hall of Fame, our award goes to:  Subway (2801 West Broad Street) in Richmond for a perfect inspection April 17th!
