HENRICO, VA (NBC12) - Police say 20-year-old John Carden of Irvington, KY died Saturday after an accident at the Henrico Water Reclamation Facility.

Police say around 8:45 a.m. he was doing some work near a "vat of sludge" when he fell in.

Emergency personnel tried, unsuccessfully, to revive the worker.

Carden was not a county employee but was authorized to work at the plant.

OSHA is now investigating the accident.
