Pedestrian injured after being hit by car

From NBC12 New

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - Richmond Police say a pedestrian was hit by a car at the intersection of Williamsburg Road and Tompkins Street.

The victim was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the accident was the result of an altercation between two people.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was leaving the area after a verbal argument with another person.

However, police say the victim hit by the vehicle was not involved in the fight.

Interestingly, the vehicle involved in the crash reportedly is registered to a woman who is wanted by police, because she failed to appear in traffic court.

The car is a 1997 green Ford Expedition with the plates M-A-T-O-O.

Police have reason to believe the driver may be headed to South Carolina.

If you see this vehicle, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
