RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Hundreds will gather at the Virginia War Memorial to honor the men and women who have given their lives fighting for our country.
The American Legion is co-hosting Monday morning's ceremony with the Virginia War Memorial.
Several speakers are scheduled with the Keynote Address given by department commander Les Clevinger.
The remembrance ceremony begins at 10 AM and is free to the public.
The Virginia War Memorial is located on 621 South Belvidere Street in Richmond.
The Hanover Veterans Memorial Day Program is being held at the Hanover Veterans Memorial located at Hanover Wayside Park on Monday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m.
The Honor Guard and Veteran's family members will participate in this program with the laying of the ceremonial wreath.
Special guest speaker will be Brigadier General William Jones, USAF (Ret.). Honored guests include: Dr. Dennis L. Stamey, Pastor, Biltmore Baptist Church; Delegate Frank Hargrove; Family of Staff Sgt. Heathe Nathanniel Craig; and VFW Post 9808 .

The Amelia Memorial Day ceremony will begin at 10:00am and last aproximately 30-45 minutes. Virginia Lt. Gov. Bolling will also be present to say a few words.
It will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at 10300 Pridesville Rd.
The Carillon Advisory Committee and Richmond's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26, at 4:00 p.m. at the World War I Carillon building in Byrd Park.
The program will feature a concert on the World War I Memorial Carillon bells, presentation of colors by the Franklin Military Academy Color Guard, guest speakers, and vocal selections by the Trophies of Grace. Pastor Keith Bryan will offer the invocation and benediction.
