RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - On June 12, less than a month from now, NBC12 will turn off our analog signal and broadcast only in digital. This date will not change.

If your television set is connected to cable or satellite service you don't need to make any changes at all. You are digital ready. But if you have a TV more than three or four years old, connected to an over the air antenna commonly known as rabbit ears, you are probably not ready.

In order to use that TV you will need to do one of several things. Connect that TV to cable or satellite or get a digital converter box and antenna. The digital converter box will easily connect to your television and allow you to pick up the digital signals broadcast by NBC12 and other stations.

You can get a digital converter box and an antenna at many area retailers. In the coming weeks NBC12 will be airing special digital TV reports in our news. We will take viewer calls in our Call 12 DTV center.

For a schedule of these upcoming reports click our DTV link. You will find a lot of helpful information including answers to many commonly asked questions.

If you don't have internet access the FCC has a toll free number you can call for help at 1-888-Call-FCC. June 12 will be here very soon so please don't wait.
