HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The shooting happened just before 3:00 p.m. Both the victims are now in the hospital.

This all happened in the 2700 block of Harvie Road at the Glenwood Farms Apartments. That's in the eastern part of the county.

One young man is in critical condition, another is expected to be okay. NBC12 spoke to the father of one victim who says he rushed to the scene after he got a frantic phone call.

"I'm antsy to get to the hospital," said Herman Graham.

Herman Graham walked up to officers at the Glenwood Farms Apartment community not long after hearing about the shooting.

He says he got a disturbing call that his 20 year old son had been involved in an altercation.

Graham later found out his son had been shot in the leg and rushed to VCU Medical Center along with another young man with a much more serious wound. The second victim had been shot in the chest.

Police say the gunfire erupted outside between two apartment buildings. Initially a police officer's shoes marked where some of the casings landed. They brought out a special K-9 to look for any guns that may have been left behind.

"This area a lot of that is going on and when you hear something like this something happening like this, the only thing you can do is hope and pray that everything comes out okay," said Graham.

Police don't have a description of the shooter or shooters. They're asking anyone who may have information to call them or crime stoppers at 780-1000.
