HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Parents in western Henrico County are gearing up for this week's, critical, meetings, on redistricting.
The attendance boundaries need to be redrawn for all schools in the county, because of a new middle and high school being built.
There are three proposals on the table, and Monday night, some parents gathered to show opposition to one of them.
Residents from Crystal Creek, Linsey Lakes and Millbrooke subdivisions are upset with proposal three.
It calls for their children to attend J.R. Tucker High School, which is nearly four miles away....instead of the new, Glen Allen High School, which is less than two miles away.
The parents say -- proposal #3 came out of nowhere.
These parents want proposal one or two to pass or the third one changed..they plan to attend this week's public hearings on the redistricting plans.
The first one is tomorrow night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at Highland Springs High School.
The next is Wednesday at Mills Godwin High School, the final one is Wednesday at Henrico High School.
