Two inmates escape correctional center in Goochland

From NBC12 News

GOOCHLAND, VA (NBC12) - The VA Department of Corrections is searching for two suspects who escaped a low security prison Saturday evening.

Authorities say 21-year-old Joseph Troy Gray and 25-year-old David Michael Corbin escaped from the James River Work Center around 9:45 last night.

The center is a smaller facility with an average population of about 275 inmates all classified as non-violent offenders.

Dept of Corrections spokesperson Larry Traylor says these inmates regularly leave the facility to work in the community.

The inmates are not considered dangerous but Traylor says if spotted do not attempt to approach, rather, contact law enforcement immediately or the Virginia Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit at 1-877-896-5764.

We've crews on their way to Goochland and will have more information as it becomes available.
