CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - NASCAR Week has grabbed hold of Central Virginia, meaning countless public appearances will be taking place up until Saturday night's Russell Friedman 400, and around here, no one's more publically in demand than Chesterfield's Denny Hamlin, who made a stop by the old neighborhood Wednesday to unveil his latest business venture.
It's called Denny Hamlin's Speed Wash, and one if its two locations is at the former Midlothian Speedwash on Hull Street, with the other being in Fredericksburg.
Plenty of fans were on hand to meet and greet the driver who's always happy to come back home, and even happier to give back to the community.
Of course, Thursday night, Denny will be at Southside Speedway for the third annual Denny Hamlin Foundation Race.
Joining Hamlin in the field under the lights for the 175-lap, late model fundraiser will be Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart and Curtis Markham. Bobby Allison will be the grand marshal. Adults tickets are $20.
