2-alarm fire at West Clay St.

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Fire crews have control over a two-alarm fire that broke out at 900 block West Clay St.

The fire is out, but crews are still on scene to check for remaining hot spots.

The building is a row home with several apartments.

The room where the fire originated was vacant and boarded up. No one was found inside at the time.

Residents of the adjacent rooms are still waiting outside, though the fire was contained to the one room.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
