Man charged after road rage spurs him to fire handgun while driving

From NBC12 News

NEW KENT, VA (NBC12) - An Ashland man is in jail without bond, accused of firing a gun during a road rage incident.

Police say it began near the intersection of Routes 611 and 613 in New Kent County.

44-year-old James Wright was driving slowly because he was hauling heavy cargo.

But another driver gave him what might be described as a rude hand gesture.

Police say that's when Wright pulled out a semi-automatic hand-gun and fired it into the air.

No one was hurt.

But wright is charged with shooting from an occupied vehicle and illegal weapon possession by a convicted felon.
