State Trooper injured in traffic accident

From NBC12 News

HANOVER, VA (NBC12) - A Virginia State Trooper was released from the hospital Friday evening after being injured in a traffic accident.

It happened Friday afternoon on northbound I-95, just north of I-295.

We're told the trooper's vehicle came in contact with another vehicle as it was merging into traffic.

The trooper suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The couple in the other car were not hurt.

No charges have yet been filed.

The accident did cause significant backups.

In fact, there was a second accident that resulted in that back up.

No one was seriously hurt in that incident.
