RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia's unemployment rate continues to climb.
The U.S. Dept. of Labor reported Friday that the state's seasonally adjusted jobless rate increased to 6.6 percent in February. That's up from 6 percent the previous month, and nearly double the 3.5 percent rate in February 2008.
The national unemployment rate last month was 8.1 percent.
According to the department, the number of Virginians working declined by 13,400 between January and February. Since February 2008, the state has lost 80,600 jobs.
