HENRICO, VA (NBC12) - Firefighters have begun an investigation into a Saturday morning fire that displaced a Henrico family
The blaze broke out around 10:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Ross Road.
The building was occupied at the time of the fire.
Officials say someone in the home heard a loud pop and then noticed flames on the ground level of the three story structure.
Fire quickly spread to the second floor.
Those inside got out safely but fire officials say a pet bird has died and a pet cat was injured.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known at this point.
The displaced family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
