An assistant principal at Hopewell High School is under investigation. School administrators said it's a personnel matter, but a group of parents and students are angry about it and want her back.
Dozens gathered outside Hopewell High School after school Friday to sound off and take a stand.
It's unclear what Assistant Principal Natalie White did or didn't do — but students said she hasn't been at Hopewell High School for a couple of weeks and school administrators said it's in the best interest of everyone that they don't discuss the details at this time.
"No one is telling us why, what's going on. She's an advocate for the kids, she genuinely loves the kids and we just want her to know that we are and want her back in this school," said parent Vannette Taylor.
Parents said White is well liked and respected with students and are afraid she may not come back.
"She comes to community events; she's always there with the kids and for the kids."
"It's important for these kids because some of these children, she has saved their lives," said parent Montique Baughennis.
"Without her here, the school is nothing. Ms. White was the only one that was really there for me," said student Delnita Littlejohn.
"Ms. White has been a great influence in my life," said Senior Ricky Reese.
Parents and students are waiting for answers, but right now the heads of Hopewell Public Schools are not ready to give any.
School administrators won't say how long the investigation will take or the nature of the investigation. However, they said Natalie White is still technically an employee with Hopewell Public Schools. We'll keep you updated.
