UPDATE: Woman jumps from window in apt. complex fire

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Fire crews responded to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for an apartment fire around 8:30 this morning.

Upon arrival, fire officials saw smoke coming from the building.  A basement apartment was on fire. 

Police said the fire was accidental but haven't released the cause yet.  Ten units were affected and 27 people are being assisted by the Red Cross.

One woman jumped from a window and injured her leg.  She was transported to the hospital along with eight others for non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Officials do not know how many apartments were affected or how many people are displaced.
