NORFOLK, VA (WWBT) - The Virginia Zoo in Norfolk hatched a Victoria crowned pigeon chick March 28.

The little bird can be seen in the Asia aviary at the zoo in Norfolk.

Victoria crowned pigeons are native to New Guinea.

Its natural habitat is under threat due to heavy logging.

The Victoria crowned pigeon is named for Queen Victoria. It is the least numerous of the three crowned pigeon species but is the most widely kept in captivity.

We love that the warm weather brings more babies. Hatched on March 28, a Victoria crowned pigeon chick can be seen in the Asia aviary! 😍
