Midlothian Turnpike reopens after vacant house fire

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A vacant house caught on fire late Thursday morning causing all lanes of Midlothian Turnpike to shut down.

Video from NBC12 viewers showed a massive smoke cloud filling the area between the Walmart and Old Buckingham Road just after 11 a.m.

All lanes of Midlothian Turnpike in the area were closed through early afternoon as firefighters doused the flames.

The road reopened around 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

There’s currently no information on what sparked the blaze.
