RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Controversy at the state Capitol enters a second week Monday as a state delegate who threatened to impeach Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax if he does not resign had a change of tone Monday morning.
“There has been an enormous amount of sincere and thoughtful feedback which has led to additional conversations that need to take place before anything is filed,” Patrick Hope said in a tweet.
There have been numerous calls for Fairfax to resign as a second woman came forward on Friday accusing him of sexual assault.
Prince George County Public Schools says on its website that Walton Elementary School will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
The school said in a message to parents that there would be a “deep-school cleaning.” Parents have told the Prince George Journal that “we received a letter stating a mold problem in three classrooms” and that the issue has been a problem since the beginning of the school year.
Monday is a First Alert Weather Day as areas to the west and north of Richmond could start the day off icy. With temperatures near freezing, schools are on a 2-hour delay in Louisa County.
In the Richmond area, just expect a cold rainy morning.

For the third time in the mid-1990s, City Council is taking on a proposal to rename Boulevard after tennis great Arthur Ashe.
City Council is expected to vote Monday on the proposal that was suggested last summer by the Scott’s Addition Boulevard Association.
Kings Dominion says it has made the “tough call” to shut down the popular “blast coaster” Volcano.
The park said in a release that rides are evaluated on guest satisfaction, throughput and rider capacity to reliability, uptime and maintenance.
“Over time it became nearly impossible to keep the ride up to our high standards of reliability and guest satisfaction,” Kings Dominion said on its website.
