NBC12′s On Your Side in 2018: Vet gets money; musician gets a new smile; life-altering therapy

(WWBT) - 2018 was another amazing year, and that includes unmatched generosity from many of you who helped NBC12 Investigators get results for people who had nowhere else to turn.

We gave voice to the voiceless, got cash back for others and exposed bad behavior.

From helping a Korean War veteran get his money back after a thief drained his bank account, to helping a musician get his confidence back with a brand new smile, to helping a dialysis patient get life-altering therapy, 12 On Your Side Investigator Diane Walker looks back at some of the best moments of this past year.

How NBC12 helped the community in 2018

QUOTABLE MOMENTS

“If I had not contacted Diane, I don’t think this would have gone anywhere. I was hitting brick walls left and right,” said Sally Matchett, who battled a surprise bill after receiving emergency care in the ER.

“I do think that you all have saved my life, sincerely, and if it weren’t for you all, I would be in the street,” said Carol Banks after getting donations of a wheel chair and bedside commode.

“Thank God, and thank him for Diane Walker and Channel 12 On Your Side,” said Ted Mills, who got a set of new teeth.

“Between the power of prayer and 12 On Your Side, my dad got his life back. Not just his money. His life. That’s all thanks to you all,” said Tami Fry after a war vet got his money back.

“To be honest, if I would not have called 12 On Your Side, it probably would have gone to court by now. Diane, she was a real big help," said Philip Hickman, who was in need of floor repairs.

We look forward to being On Your Side once again in 2019.

Happy New Year!
