Nicole Coon faces multiple charges.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA (WWBT) - A 29-year-old woman was charged with homicide recently after her friend died in an overdose in May.

Police say 33-year-old Dynasty L. Anderson was found unconscious around noon May 19 in the 1000 block of Heritage Park Drive. Police say officers “began performing life-saving measures, including giving the victim Narcan several times.”

Anderson was taken to a hospital where she died.

Over a five-month investigation, a detective “gathered evidence that indicated a friend of the victims identified as Nicole Coon ... sold the victim the heroin she fatally overdosed on.”

On Oct. 23, the Fredericksburg Circuit Court issued a felony direct indictment on Coon for homicide, four counts of possession of a schedule I/II drug, two counts of distribution of a schedule I/II drug, and two counts of child abuse.

Coon was served the indictment this week and is now behind bars at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
